cool system. It’d be great to have all the heater videos on one playlist. Pretty clever using sunflower shells. How much by weight would you guess you use in year? I’d imagine the plants are more than happy to get rid of those shells.
@EricDredd I’am not sure how many tons, but if the bin is full its good for a winter, most of the time its considered waste, so most of the time its free just the cost of transport which for me is about a half hour
Groutaone, how does the fuel leave the auger tube? is the air flow from the fan above of below the auger tube? Is there any chance of a fire in the auger tube, and if not how do you prevent the occurrence of a fire reaching the fuel bin? very interesting system, I had been thinking about a similar system when I stumbled across your video, great work.
@tbaybigbird I will answer in order asked, the fuel comes to a dead end and has no place to go but up, the air flow is along side the auger then up to the fire, it is not imposible for the fire to get in the auger tube and into the bin, however this fuel source dies quickly without forced air, I,ve done this many years and its never been a problem
Try and get your hands on a pellet press mill watch?v=AhW4p0tpnAE
Your boiler can easily run on lawn Cuttings Pellets not to mention make more dense sunflower shell pellets (longer burn time) or a combo of Grass and Sunflower pellets
@bigtim9119 Although not commonly used, none of this is new or original, so there is nothing here that I could patent, but thats ok, I heat cheap heh heh
@VMATT500C Right now I have water temp set about 140f and drops 20 degrees for return
@firewoodguy2009 I have used wood but have not now for about 10 years or so
do you burn wood in your boiler
@firewoodguy2009 I have but not for maybe 12 years or so
what is the purpose of the additonal exhaust section running above, and parallel to the exchanger?
@tbaybigbird That is a bypass, have never used it though

genius!!! that is an amazing idea! have you patented it? this seems like a great idea that should catch on?.
@bigtim9119 Although not commonly used, none of this is new or original, so there is nothing here that I could patent, but thats ok, I heat cheap heh heh
i would like to see you add a sterling engine to make free electric and pump it back to the systems or house to help you save more money
Great videos. You have some great ideas.
