Second alarm at 475 Bramalea Road

Second-alarm townhouse fire at 475 Bramalea Road, Brampton, Ontario Time of dispatch: 12:58 P202 was first to arrive at this *three-story attached townhouse and quickly reported flames visible from the upper floors. Crews made entry and applied agent; however the fire had extended into the roof and a neighboring unit quickly became involved. A second alarm was transmitted by Car 207 at 13:07. Flames eventually broke through the roof although the fire was contained to the upper floors and attic-space. There was smoke migration into several adjacent units and was seen venting from the eaves but fire was halted from spreading by cinderblock fire separations. Animal control requested due to several exotic reptiles and animals found inside an adjoining unit (including several large python snakes). Car 207 declared fire under control at approx 13:50. Damage is estimated at 0000. This was the first multiple alarm of 2012 for Brampton.

Part 2 of the new GE Concord 4 (see part 1 www.youtube.com This time the auxiliary alarms are being tested (Fire and carbon monoxide). The house also has a Simplex 4005 fire alarm system (for the fire alarm people it consists of System Sensor i3 2WBs, Edwards ROR/FT heat detectors and SpectrAlert Advance devices.) The Simplex 4005 has an aux relay card which trips the Concord system when it is in fire alarm or a CO detector was tripped. One relay also “hides” the fire zone resistor from the Concord when the Simplex panel is in trouble. So a trouble with the 4005 is also reported at the Concord as seen in the beginning.
