New Westminster House Fire 2nd Alarm

A three-storey home near Scott and Chestnut Streets in New Westminster is badly damaged after a two-alarm fire Monday evening. New Westminster division Chief John Hatch says one man was home at the time and had to be rushed to hospital. He has burns to his face and hands and is recovering. Investigators are working to find out what sparked the blaze.

        CK Fire – 153 Harvey St. 2nd Alarm

        28-03-2012 2PM. Chatham. Tones go off inside stations 1 and 2. The dispatcher keys the mic; and urgently announces a fully engulfed house fire, sending the firefighters 153 Harvey St. in Chathams centre. Upon arrival, firefighters found a 2 story residential home with heavy flames, and smoke pushing from the house. Although not fully engulfed, the fire was well on its way to consuming the entire house. That is, if firefighters had not arrived, and immediately requested additional personnel, and entered the house attacking the beast. Firefighters spent approximately 4 hours on scene, 2.5 of those hours were spent extinguishing the fire. At one point the back portion of the home partially collapsed, which caused Incident Command (IC) evacuate the building, and a PAR (Personnel Accountability Report) was taken. This blaze has displaced several people, who now must start over, and rebuild their lives. CK Fire, Police, and the Ontario Fire Marshals Office are on scene investigate, what they are considering a suspicious fire. Damages to the residence are estimated at 0000.
